KOLKATA: Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly will play for Mohammedan Sporting in the four-team Platinum jubilee Cup football tournament, which is to be played on November 12 against East Bengal. Sheffield FC will play Mohun Bagan on the same day. After completing the draw, the club's president and Union minister Sultan Ahmed said: “Sourav Ganguly will play for us. He will be wearing the No. 99 jersey.'' Mr. Ahmed said there would be some changes in rules to make the friendly games entertaining. Each team will be allowed five substitutions and a team can field five players taken on loan from other clubs. Out of five, only two can be foreigners. The English club will arrive here on November 11. The visiting club will hold a clinic for kids on November 13 at the club ground. A felicitation programme will be held after the clinic with the club honouring some of its former greats. The union minister announced that a special cover will be released by India Post on the occasion. The celebrations will take off with a quiz programme on November 9. – Special Correspondent
