Karuna, Vanita star for Karnataka

HYDERABAD: Good knocks by Karuna Jain (91, 132 balls, 13x4) and V.R. Vanita (69, 8x4, 2x6) helped Karnataka record a 112-run win over Kerala in the South Zone women's one-day cricket tournament at NFC here on Saturday.

In another match at Gymkhana, a fine all-round show by Shravanthi Naidu (33 not out and three for 19) helped Hyderabad score a 75-run win over Tamil Nadu.

The scores: At Gymkhana: Hyderabad 172 for six in 50 overs (Nidhi Torvi 35, Shravanthi Naidu 33 not out, V. Vilasini three for 31) bt Tamil Nadu 97 in 48 overs (N. Niranjana 34, Gouher Sultana three for 18, Shravanthi Naidu three for 19).

At NFC: Karnataka 222 for seven in 50 overs (Karuna Jain, V.R. Vanitha 69, Sonia Mol three for 41) bt Kerala 110 in 50 overs (E. Rency 30, Jincy George 34 not out).

At AOC: Andhra vs Goa. Match abandoned due to wet outfield .
