KOLKATA: Aryan Club shocked Mohammedan Sporting 1-0 in a premier division encounter of the Calcutta Football League here on Monday. Nigerian striker John Babatunde found the target in the second session. Aryan, which beat holder Mohun Bagan by a similar (1-0) margin earlier in the League, made a sedate start in the match. With Mohammedan Sporting struggling to put together a decent attack, the first session remained barren. Making the most of an assist from Stanley Okoroigwe, Babatunde finally made the breakthrough in the 61st minute. With the win Aryan soared to the second spot in the league standings and remained the only other unbeaten side in the League apart from the current leader East Bengal, which has won all its matches. Aryan tallied 31 points from nine wins and four draws while Mohammedan Sporting remained far behind with 19 points from 11 matches. — Principal Correspondent
