This was part of Deepavali celebrations held at the home VELLORE: The VIT Alumni Association (VITAA), Vellore Chapter, has donated a reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment plant worth Rs. 20,000 to Old Age-cum-Children's Home run by the Indian Red Cross Society, Vellore district branch, at Poigai village near here. This was part of Deepavali celebrations held at the home on Sunday. G. Viswanathan, Chancellor of VIT University, and office-bearers and members of the VITAA chapter, celebrated the festival with people staying at the home. Members of the association conducted cultural programmes. Residents of the home also gave dance and music recitals. The association members provided lunch and distributed snacks, sweets and gifts to the residents.
