Mohan Raj declines coaching offer
HYDERABAD: Vijay Mohan Raj, a member of the 1987 Hyderabad Ranji Trophy winning squad, declined the offer to coach Hyderabad under-19 team in the Cooch Behar Trophy this season.
In a letter to HCA president Arshad Ayub, Vijay Mohan Raj said that since the cricket schedule clashes with the professional commitments he had made much before, he might not be able to do full justice.
“In fact, my appointment as the under-19 coach came as a surprise and was communicated to me by a member of the media after which I called you and confirmed the same. My philosophy of serving the State, in any capacity and at all times would have compelled me to accept this assignment but there is no emergency at least at the under-19 level for me to alter my decision,” the former Ranji star explained in the letter.
