THANJAVUR: Free house site pattas have been distributed to 16 Narikurava families at Pasupathikoil in Papanasam taluk on Tuesday. M.S.Shanmugham, Collector, distributed the pattas to them.
A press release issued here by the Collector said that following petitions given by the Narikuravas on November one that the land earmarked for them was encroached by some persons, the collector made a filed visit. He asked revenue and land survey department officials to measure and mark the house sites. Pattas were later issued to the Narikurava families.
The collector also saw the land for providing pattas to Adhidravida people at Thamizhakudi village in Ammapettai Panchayat Union. He said that Kovilur-Thamizhakudi road will be widened and the bridge across Puthar river in the village will be renovated. He also said that bridge linking Kudikadu and Vandyariruppu villages will also be renovated under National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) fund.
Later he saw the construction of concrete houses under Kalaignar's concrete housing scheme at Malaikanatham village in Nallavanniyankudikadu panchayat.
James Chellaiah, Adi Dravida Welfare Officer, Pandiyan, Special Tasildhar, Adi Dravida Welfare and Sakthivel, Regular Tasildhar accompanied the collector during his visit.
