STRETCHED:Richard Gasquet had to dig deep to get past Nicolas Mahut. — PARIS: Argentine David Nalbandian, the 2007 champion, defeated Spain's Marcel Granollers 6-3, 6-1 on Tuesday to move into a second-round match with Scot Andy Murray at the Paris Masters. Former No.3 Nalbandian cut short the week for Granollers, the losing finalist to compatriot David Ferrer in the Valencia final last weekend. Late on Monday, Richard Gasquet scraped past French compatriot Nicolas Mahut 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(7). The World No. 28, bidding for a place in the French team for the Davis Cup final against Serbia in Belgrade, prevailed after almost two and half hours.
