CHENNAI: Four persons, including three girls, were injured in a road accident on Rajiv Gandhi Salai here on Tuesday.

According to police sources, Ramya, Nandhini and Vanitha, studying MBA in a city college, tried to cross the road near Indira Nagar MRTS station when a speeding motorcyclist knocked them down.

The girls suffered bleeding injuries, one of them seriously.

The motorcyclist whose name was not known immediately also suffered injuries. “Instead of taking the foot-overbridge, the girls tried to cross the road after jumping over the median. The injured were taken to a private hospital for treatment,” a police official said.
