HYDERABAD: The Telangana Telugu Desam Forum has requested the government to stop the proposed recruitment of 1,100 sub-inspectors, 193 Reserve SIs including 24 for the AP Special Police. In a letter to Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, forum convener N. Janardhan Reddy urged him not to rush with the move pending the decision of the Centre on the State's bifurcation. He recalled the unanimous resolution passed in the Legislative Assembly recommending an amendment to 14 (F) of the Presidential Order dealing with the Hyderabad City Police. If the resolution of the House was carried and an amendment issued, he said, there was every danger of the recruitment being declared null and void by courts, leading to serious discontent. He recalled that the House Committees in the present and previous governments had held that the recruitment of people from all over the State to the City Police was a violation of GO 610.
