Preetham, Kiran triumph

Mysore: K.N. Preetham and Kiran Sanjeev both of OMTTA, Bangalore won the mini-cadet boys' and girls' singles titles on the inaugural day of the 4th M.Visveshwaraiah Memorial State ranking table tennis tournament for juniors at the Kuvempu Trust premises here on Tuesday.

The results: Mini-cadet boys: Final: K.N. Preetham (OMTTA) bt K. Samrath (KOS) 8-11, 13-11, 11-3, 12-14, 11-3; semifinals: K.N. Preetham bt Sachin Shankar (Hor) 11-6, 11-9, 11-8; K. Samrath bt Krishna R Shankar (Star TT) 11-6, 11-9, 11-3.

Mini cadet girls: Final: Kiran Sanjeev (OMTTA) bt Vaishnavi (OMTTA) 11-9, 11-5, 13-11; semifinals: Kiran Sanjeev bt Dhanya (PTTA) 11-1, 11-5, 11-4; Vaishnavi bt Ankitha (WC) 12-10, 9-11, 11-5, 8-11 .
