NEW DELHI: More than a week after the Union Sports Ministry cleared a contingent of 609 sportspersons including 71athletes, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) on Tuesday released a list of 69 competitors for participation in the Asian Games beginning in Guangzhou on November 12.
Two athletes, hammer thrower Chandrodaya Narayan Singh and woman walker Gaurav Kumari, have been dropped from the original squad.
The AFI Secretary, Lalit Bhanot, said they were dropped because of their failure to maintain performance. — Special Correspondent
