Bandh call withdrawn

Staff Correspondent

DAVANGERE:Davangere District Backward Classes Union, which had given a Davangere bandh call onThursday, has withdrawn it in the wake of a decision of the Government to withdraw the Ordinance on reservations in taluk and zilla panchayats.

B.M. Satish, leader of the union, has, in a press release here on Wednesday, said that injustice was done to the backward classes, particularly those who come under BCM-A.

As the Government had withdrawn the Ordinance and promised a new reservation policy, the union withdrew the bandh call, he said.
