KOTTAYAM: Jwala–2010, the district police cultural-sports festival was flagged off here on Saturday. The two-day event was inaugurated by District Superintendent of Police P.G. Ashok Kumar. The festival, which is being held for the first time since 2004, has been divided into various sub-divisions. The sub-division to score the maximum overall points will be awarded the rolling trophy. Swimming, cricket, badminton, caroms and athletics feature among the various sports competitions. Mr. Kumar will inaugurate the cultural competitions on Sunday. Cine artists Kottayam Nazeer, Johny Antony and singer Anju Joseph will participate in the programme.
