‘Battle' of a different kind

HYDERABAD: Khaddar-clad Congress leaders engaged themselves in a battle of different kind on Sunday.

To commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Indian National Congress, the AP Congress Committee organised a friendly kabaddi match between the Chief Minister's team and the President XI.

Men and women leaders enthusiastically divided themselves into two teams to take on their rivals. APCC office-bearers Narasimha Reddy, Gowrishankar, T. Niranjan, Jaganmohan Rao and Tripurana Venkataratnam represented the APCC president's XI, while MLCs K. Ganga Bhavani, Gidugu Rudraraju and others played for the Chief Minister's XI.

The Chief Minister's XI had the last laugh winning the match. Interestingly, Chief Minister K. Rosaiah and APCC president D. Srinivas were spectators.

Later, they drove to L. B. Stadium to inaugurate a T-20 cricket tourney for youth.
