Sub-junior Nationals from today

Bangalore: Tamil Nadu will aim to win an unprecedented fourth successive boys' title as the 33rd sub-junior National volleyball championship commences at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here on Monday. Recent history, however, suggests that the side will face a stiff challenge from Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka.

The host, a four-time champion, finished fourth in the last two editions with its previous win coming in 2006. It opens its campaign with a match against Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

Tamil Nadu will also seek to add the girls' crown after losing to eventual champion Kerala in last year's semifinals.
