Sibal to look after Communications Ministry

NEW DELHI: A day after A. Raja resigned as Communications and Information Technology Minister over the alleged scam in the 2G spectrum allocation, Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal was given the additional charge of the Ministry on Monday.

Mr. Sibal has also been given the additional charge of the Ministries of Science and Technology, and Earth Sciences, which fell vacant after Prithviraj Chavan took over as Maharashtra Chief Minister.

In another development, Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs V. Narayanasamy will look after the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, which was held by Mr. Chavan.
