Jharkhand fights back

HYDERABAD: Jharkhand fought back well to reduce Hyderabad to 32 for four after being bowled out for 180 on the first day of the four-day Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy (Plate) under-22 cricket tournament at NFC Ground here on Tuesday.

Batting first, Jharkhand batting faltered in the face of accurate bowling by leg-spinner Akash Bhandari (five for 75) and left-arm spinner Mehdi Hasan (three for 28). When the host batted, it was rocked by a good spell from Ashish Kumar who claimed three wickets.

The scores: Jharkhand 180 (Ashish Sinha 36, Ajit Dwivedi 31, Jaskaran Singh 35 not out, Akash Bhandari five for 75, Mehdi Hasan three for 28) vs Hyderabad 32 for four in 23 overs (Ashish Kumar three for 13) .
