2 transformers to provide supply of uninterrupted power

Steps taken to light up the trekking paths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has made all arrangements for uninterrupted power supply at Sabarimala during the festival season, Chief Engineer (distribution south) K. Radhakrishnan has said.

Mr. Radhakrishnan said in a release here on Tuesday that two 66-kV transformers had been installed at the Thriveni sub-station for uninterrupted power supply to Pampa and Sannidhanam. Maintenance works had been completed on time and additional transformers and other equipment had been stocked at Pampa to be used in the event of an emergency.

Steps had been taken to light up the trekking paths, alternative routes and pilgrim camps.

Officials of the KSEB and the Travancore Devaswom Board were inspecting the trekking paths to identify the spots where additional lights were required.

The communication system had also been strengthened at all key points. Sufficient staff had been deployed at Sannidhanam, Nilakkal, Pampa and other important stations.

Arrangements had been made to release water from the KSEB reservoir to maintain the water level in the Pampa, he said.
