New facility to know traffic diversions

MADURAI: The police have introduced a new telephone number to offer information to the public about traffic disruptions. According to a press release from the Police Commissioner, P. Balasubramanian, people can dial 103 from any Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited landline or mobile phone to get information on traffic diversions. The facility, which became operational on Monday, will be extended to other telecom providers soon. The new number, 103, will be in addition to `100.'
