VHP seeks probe into ‘suspicious activities'
Correspondent
Karwar: The Uttara Kannada district unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has demanded an investigation into the “suspicious activities” of some people from north India in Karwar, who, it alleged, were trying to disrupt social unity.
Prasad Kamat, general secretary of the VHP unit and B.G. Mohan, president of the unit, told presspersons here on Wednesday that the police should monitor the activities of such “outsiders” in Karwar.
The VHP warned that it would launch an agitation if the police failed to identify anti-national forces operating in Karwar and Bhatkal.
Charge
They alleged officials of the Karwar Development Authority were permitting construction of multi-storey buildings in the city in violation of norms.
