Cash, jewellery stolen

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The house of a businessman was burgled and cash and jewellery worth about Rs.20 lakh were stolen at Ashok Vihar here on Thursday.

The incident took place when the businessman, Harish Gupta, was at his stationary shop in Nai Sarak. His wife Nisha and two children had gone to shop in Chandni Chowk. When they returned around 7 p.m., they found the main door locked from inside and suspecting that something was amiss, alerted their neighbours and security guards.

They found that the rear door of the house had been broken. The house was ransacked and valuables and cash were missing.
