Half-burnt body found

CHENNAI: The half-burnt body of a man was found at Padi on Friday morning. Police suspect it to be a case of suicide.

Korattur police identified the deceased as Chandramohan Lal (66) of Selliamman Koil Street in Athipattu, who was an alcoholic. Around 5.30 a.m., his body, burnt from waist-down, was found at a secluded location at Amman Koil Street in Padi.

Korattur police reached the spot and conducted preliminary investigations and sent the body for post-mortem to the Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital. Mr. Lal had come to meet his son who resides in Padi and was found dead under mysterious circumstances, police sources said.

Case registered

Korattur police have registered a case and are investigating.
