20-point programme reviewed

MAHABUBNAGAR: To improve the living standards of common man in the country, the government is implementing the 20-point economic programme, N. Tulasi Reddy, chairman of the programme, said while reviewing its implementation on Saturday.

 He said that the programme was an indicator of the performance of public representatives and officials. Under programme, 65 items were being reviewed. He said the ranking system of mandals would be introduced shortly.

Mr. Reddy said that the State stood ninth in implementation of the programme in 2009-10, while Prakasham, East Godavari, Chittoor ranked first, second and third during 2009-10 and the Mahabubnagar was at 19th place. The Chairman and Collector distributed medals and certificates to the students who were adjudged first, second and third in essay-writing and elocution competitions.
