VIBRANT start:Folk artistes performing at the inter-collegiate cultural festival near Shimoga on Saturday. SHIMOGA: The three-day inter-collegiate cultural festival of the Kuvempu University got off to an enthusiastic start on the Jnana Sahyadri campus, about 25 km from here, on Saturday. A large number of boys and girls from colleges coming under the jurisdiction of the university are taking part in the festival. C. Basavalingaiah, former chairman of Rangayana of Mysore, who formally inaugurated the festival, appealed to the students to give importance to academics as well as cultural programmes Vice-Chancellor of the university S.A. Bari presided over the function. The festival began with colourful programmes events.
