Sharad moves up

BANGALORE: Sharad defeated Akshay 8-7(5) in the second qualifying round of the boys under-16 singles in the Bangalore City Institute-AITA Talent series junior tennis championship at BCI courts here on Saturday.

In the boys' under-18 singles second qualifying round, Harsh Lakhani prevailed over Aditya Mitter 8-7(2) while K.N. Vignesh beat V. Sachin 8-7(3).

The qualifiers for the main round will be spotted on Sunday and the main draw starts on November 22.
