VIT to enhance ties with Oman college

VELLORE: The VIT University, Vellore, and the Caledonian College of Engineering, Muscat, Oman have agreed to further strengthen their academic cooperation, in pursuance to the academic partnership established between the institutions in 2007. According to a VIT release, the VIT has been helping the Caledonian College of Engineering by developing and delivering postgraduate and bachelor's courses through the academic partnership. Sankar Viswanathan, Vice-President (Administration) and V. Raju, Vice-Chancellor of VIT recently visited the Caledonian College and reviewed the academic partnership.

The curricula for the M.Sc. Process Engineering and B.Sc. Chemical Engineering at the Caledonian College have been developed by VIT University, taking into account the needs of the local community. The VIT also helps the Omani institution by deputing its faculty members to offer part of the courses.

Both the institutions agreed to enhance the ties through joint development of programmes in energy and environment.
