Devotees throng Alangudi temple

TIRUVARUR: Hundreds of people thronged Sri Apathsahayeswaraswamy temple, Navagraha Kshetra for Guru Bhagawan, at Alangudi near Needamangalam in Tiruvarur district to offer worship in view of Guru Peyarchi on Sunday.
Guru (Jupiter) moved from Kumba Rasi to Meena Rasi. Special abishekams were performed to Guru Bhagawan. Despite heavy rain last night, large number of people from all over state and the country visited the temple and offered worship. M.Chandrasekaran, Collector, Tiruvarur, were among those who offered worship at the temple. Police had made elaborate bandobust arrangements and health department operated mobile medical units.
Parihara homams were performed in the temple. People started queuing up at the temple from morning and offered worship to Guru Bhagawan. Crowd swelled in the evening. Hundreds of people visited Sri Vasishteswaraswamy temple also at Thittai near Thanjavur and offered worship to Guru Bhagawan.
