Booking for DDA flats begins today

Nearly 16,000 flats in various locations in the Capital

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Development Authority's 2010 Housing Scheme will be launched on Thursday with application forms being available at select branches of IDBI Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank besides the Vikas Sadan branches of State Bank of India and Central Bank of India and Nehru Place branch of the Union Bank of India.

Nearly 16,000 flats in various locations of the Capital including Vasant Kunj, Mukherjee Nagar, Motia Khan, Kalyan Vihar, Jasola, Dwarka, Rohini, Narela, Jaffarabad and Kondli Gharoli will be available under the scheme.

The application forms can be purchased for Rs.105 and comes with an information brochure on the housing scheme. The forms can also be downloaded from the DDA website for which payment will have to be made through banker's cheque/demand draft.

The flats on offer include one, two, three bedroom, explandable, “Janata” and one-room tenement houses. The applications can be submitted until December 24 following which the draw will be held within four months, the DDA said.

One-room tenements at Narela, Trilokpuri and Shivaji Enclave have also been included in the scheme. The “Janata” tenements are priced between Rs.3 lakh and Rs.6 lakh while the other flats are priced between Rs.9 lakh and Rs.1.12 crore costing between Rs.1,536 and Rs.6,069 per square feet.

Any citizen of India 18 years and above can apply for the flat provided the person does not own any residential flat or plot in full or in part on lease-hold or free-hold basis in Delhi. A person can submit only one application in his/her name.

Applicants will have to deposit Rs.1.5 lakh as a registration amount along with the application form which is refundable, but for “Janata” one room tenement category the registration amount is Rs.50,000.

The allotment will be held through a computerised draw to be held in the presence of three independent judges and media persons.
