‘Beckett on Film' to be screened

KOCHI: Chavara Movie Circle is bringing a whole day of Beckett plays, as it screens Beckett on Film.

The much-acclaimed film project of 19 important plays of Samuel Beckett, one of the most significant playwrights of the 12th Century, will be screened on Saturday. The project was originally conceived by Michael Colgan, artistic director of Dublin's Gate Theatre. The collection brings together the best of directors and actors to portray the plays that have etched their position in history. Head of the theatre department at Sree Sankaracharya University, Ramesh Varma will inaugurate the festival at Chavara Public Library Hall on Saturday at 10.30 a.m.
