Man robbed of valuables

Tirupur: Four persons allegedly gained entry into the house of a money lender at Vigneswara Nagar in Nochipalayam on the city outskirts and robbed him of 12 sovereigns of jewellery and Rs. 10,000 cash on Thursday.
The police sources said the complainant, K. Chandran, sustained minor injuries on his hand as the accused attacked him with a knife before escaping from the house with the loot.
Superintendent of Police A Arun and Deputy Superintendent of Police C. Raja among other senior police officials visited the house to carry out preliminary investigation.
The Tirupur Rural Police have registered a case and are investigating.
