AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat High Court on Monday rejected the plea of a 2002 bomb blast convict for temporary bail to attend a marriage and a religious ceremony at home.
A Division Bench of the court, comprising justices A. M. Kapadia and B.N. Mehta, rejected the plea of Rahim Khan, who is serving a 10-year imprisonment at the Sabarmati Central Jail for the Memco bomb blast here in May 2002.
Rahim Khan and others were accused of placing a bomb in a scooter near the Memco cross roads in the Naroda area after the Godhra communal riots. Though there was no casualty or injury in the blast, a designated Prevention of Terrorism Act court found him guilty of conspiracy.
