‘Status quo' order on ORR land acquisition

HYDERABAD: The Supreme Court Bench comprising Justice Altamas Kabir and Justice Sri Joseph issued ‘Status Quo' orders on the judgement of A.P. High Court, a press release said. On the judgement of the High Court issued on Outer Ring Road (ORR) Kandlakoi junction land acquisition, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) had filed a special leave petition in Supreme Court, the press release said.

Keeping in view the importance of ORR project, the court has also ordered that the leave petition be posted urgently.

On behalf of the State government, the Attorney General of India G.E. Vahanvathi and on behalf of HMDA, senior Supreme Court Advocate Harish Salve appeared in the case.
