flowing high: Members of the Tamil Nadu Milk Producers Cooperative Societies Employees Association staging a demonstration in Tiruchi on Monday. TIRUCHI: Members of the Tamil Nadu Milk Producers Cooperative Societies Employees Association, Tiruchi district staged a demonstration here on Monday urging the State government to implement their 10-point charter of demands. Organised near the Khadi Kraft junction, the stir was headed by the association district president V. Manickam. The demonstrators urged the State government to increase the margin amount for milk supplied by the milk cooperative societies to Aavin from 40 paise to Rs.3. Monthly wage As the primary milk cooperative societies served as the base for milk production and supply to Aavin, the association wanted the State government to declare the employees of primary milk cooperative societies as Aavin staff and provide Rs.3,500 as monthly wage along with interim relief to the secretaries and Rs.2,500 for other workforce till such time a new pay scale was fixed. Filling up the vacant posts in the Aavin by appointing the primary milk cooperative societies employees; grant of 20 per cent bonus to the milk cooperative societies employees akin to the one given to Aavin staff and supply of cattle feed at subsidised rates to the milk producers were among their other demands.
