Impressive: AOC Captain Bhalinder Singh landing at the Army Training Area near Parade Grounds on Tuesday. HYDERABAD: As a motley gathering of Armed Force personnel along with their families and civilians watched with bated breath, Captain Bhalinder Singh took another pass overhead and flew back. Few minutes later, three of his team members made for the ground and landed softly one after another and culminating the expedition, the Army Ordnance Corps (AOC) Captain himself touched the ground in a fine display of control and precision. The Army Training Area near Parade Grounds in Secunderabad played host to the Para-Motor Team that started its expedition from Jabalpur and covered 700 kms crossing three States in nine days to arrive here. The expedition coincided with the celebration of AOC 9 {+t} {+h} Reunion and aimed at inculcating the spirit of adventure and motivating younger generation towards Armed Forces. Four members of the expedition led by Captain Singh flew in the mini aircrafts which are single pilot machines capable of flying at an altitude of 8,000 and higher at a speed of 60 kmph to 80 kmph. These machines have an endurance of three to four hours and demand high-level of skill to handle. The other members of the expedition team included Pradeep Thakur and Naveen. The team leader later presented a flag to the AOC Secunderabad Commandant Brigadier Ram Saiwal and addressing the gathering said, “My team is proud to have successfully completed such long expedition in such short time.” The event also had a series of presentations by different AOC teams. Presentations The PT Display team left one and all mesmerised with their well synchronised presentations and drills. Fine sounds of music were stuck by the brass and bagpiper bands while the show was interspersed with members of para-sailing gliding down for a perfect touchdown.
