2 villagers killed in clash
Staff Reporter
GAMPALAGUDEM (Krishna district): Two persons were killed in a clash in Sabbala village of Gampalagudem mandal on Tuesday. According to the local police, Chintala Krishna Rao (25) and Unnam Shivaiah (26) were killed when they clashed over a trivial issue.
The victims had filed cases against each other in the past and the rivalry had been continuing between the two families for the last one year, the police said. On Tuesday, the clash started when Krishna Rao's tractor broke down in the farm land belonging to Shivaiah. The latter objected to this and started quarrelling. The war of words soon took a serious turn and Shivaiah allegedly attacked Krishna Rao, who was sitting in the tractor's driving seat, with an iron rod. Krishna Rao died immediately. Shivaiah reached home and was watching television when Krishna Rao's father Tirupati Rao and other family members, on coming to know of the incident, went into a rage and reached his home. They attacked Shivaiah with sticks and rods, killing him on the spot. Shivaiah's wife received injuries in the attack. Police registered cases against both the families and arrested Tirupati Rao and his family members.
