Kiran urged to include weaver community in Cabinet

HYDERABAD: Weavers' United Front has appealed to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to include a representative of the weaving community in the new Cabinet.
No representation
On behalf of the Front, K.A.N. Moorthy and Gardasu Balaiah, in a representation to Mr. Reddy said that the weaver communities Padmashali, Devanga, Thogata and Pattusali are predominant communities in the State and constitute 10 per cent of the population. They said weavers could tilt the balance in 45 Assembly and six Lok Sabha constituencies. They said no representative of weavers' was included in the previous two State Cabinets and described it as a handicap for the cause of handloom industry and strengthening the Congress party.
