Orders against contract lecturers criticised
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD: Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi on Tuesday criticised the orders of Director of Intermediate Education barring the agitating contract lecturers from teaching in government junior colleges in future.
In a statement issued here, Mr. Chiranjeevi termed the orders as undemocratic as the contract lecturers were agitating only in support of their just demands for the last 10 days. Throwing 8,000 contract lecturers on to roads when there was no Council of Ministers in the State was a hasty step from the official concerned.
He requested Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to take back all contract lecturers and resolve their demands.
Meanwhile, the AP Government Contract Lecturers' Association functionaries led by BCs' Association president R. Krishnaiah held talks with Commissioner of Board of Intermediate Education Luv Agarwal and urged the latter to resolve the demands.
