‘New government has forgotten BCs, weavers'
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: Fifteen Backward Classes organisations and the APCC Weavers' Cell and State United Weavers' Front on Wednesday criticised Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for reducing the share of BCs in Cabinet posts and for not including a weaver, respectively.
In a statement, G. Balaiah, convener of APCC Weavers' Cell, K. A. N. Moorthy, vice-president, State Weavers' United Front, C. Sridhar, treasurer of the front's Anantapur unit, and G. Jagannadham, former APCO chairman, expressed displeasure at non-inclusion of a weaver in the Cabinet. They said the new government seemed to have forgotten that the weaver community had suffered the most in hunger deaths.
