TAMBARAM: A couple were arrested by the Peerkankaranai police on Wednesday on charges of harassing and neglecting an 80-year-old woman.

According to police, E. Andal (80), a resident of Indira Nagar, Old Perungalathur, has two sons, Venkatesan and Srinivasan. During a grievance meeting at the Chennai Suburban Police Commissionerate in August this year, she complained to Commissioner S. R. Jangid that since the death of her husband Elumalai 10 years ago, she had been living in a pitiable condition, with very little support from her sons.
