Computer teachers threaten stir

Correspondent

VIZIANAGARAM: The Computer Teachers Sangham (CTS), affiliated to Centre of Indian Trade Unions, launched a two-day relay fast at the Collector's office here on Thursday demanding among other things, increase in wages, release of unpaid wages that are pending for the past four months and regularisation of services.

District CITU president M. Srinivasa, who inaugurated the relay fast camp, said the government appointed Institute of Electronic Governance (IEG) which in turn let out the agency to SSI Integrated, Srikakulam, for recruitment of computer teachers.

About 320 teachers have been working in 170 Success schools in the district and they are being paid Rs. 2,100 per month. The agency had even stopped payment of wages from July this year, he said.
