Workshop on energy efficiency today

VIAKHAPATNAM: A CII-BEE workshop on energy efficiency – ‘awareness building and enhancing competitiveness' -- will be conducted at The Park hotel in the city on Friday at 10 a.m.

The key persons, who will address the audience include Director (operations) of APEPDCL H.Y. Dora, Project Economist of Bureau of Energy Efficiency in the Ministry of Power, New Delhi, Rajiv Kumar Yadav, chairman of CII Vizag Zone Capt. Sriram Ravi Chander, and vice chairman R.V.S. Raju.

Apart from these, other speakers from government bodies, financial institutions and public sector units will be apprising the audience of various schemes of the government to promote energy efficiency in the country. Relevant case studies will also be presented by the industry representatives, according to CII Head-Vizag Zone Vinay Iyer.

Talk on software

The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is organising a talk on ‘militarisation of cyber space and weaponisation of software' by Director of Centre for Telecom Management and Studies T. Hanuman Chowdary at IETE Centre near the Department of Electronics and Communication Department, AU College of Engineering, on December 4.

Principal Associate Director of NSTL S.V. Rangarajan, who has recently taken over as Chairman, IETE, Visakhapatnam centre, will preside over the function, according to IETE Visakhapatnam centre secretary Abraham Varughese.
