Public Works Minister C.M. Udasi (centre) inspecting work at Mudipu on Thursday. MANGALORE: Minister for Public Works C.M. Udasi said on Thursday that he will meet Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Kamalnath shortly in connection with getting approval for concreting Shiradi Ghat stretch on the National Highway No. 48. He told presspersons near Mudipu on the outskirts of the city that he had met Mr. Kamalnath thrice in this connection. The Union Minister had assured him of approving the project. But the approval was pending. Mr. Udasi said the State Government had planned to invite bids to take up the project before next month. Now it could not go ahead with its plan because of the delay. The Minister said the Agumbe ghat section on Udupi-Shimoga Road would also be concreted. The Minister inaugurated a mini-bridge built across a “thodu” at Madangar by the Public Works Department on the occasion.
