CHENNAI: The stage is now set for the curtains to come down on the current two-wheeler racing season as the city gets ready to host the fifth and final round of the Sidvin-FMSCI National racing championship at the Madras Motor Race Track, Irungattukottai near here. In the expert class, the top place is currently held by S. Sharath Kumar from Team Ten 10 Racing. Sharath leads the championship table in this class with 65.5 points and just needs to a couple of finishes in the top four slots to seal the national championship. Veteran racer Sriskandarajah of Team Moto Rev India is in second place with 52 points. In the Open class , the final round promises to be a thriller with K. Rajini of Red Rooster racing fighting it out for the championship title with Sumit Lucas Toppas of Blue Arrow Racing — both have currently notched up 60 points apiece. With seven wins out of eight races in the first four rounds in the Group B 25 above 130cc upto 165cc, P. Deva Kumar of Team Moto Rev India has already clinched in the championship with a tally of 70 points and an unassailable lead of 34 points. Consistent and dominating performances by A. Prabhu from Motor Rev India in the intermediate class has rocketed him to the verge of clinching the championship title. Having garnered 68 points, he still needs three points to seal the championship. Team TVS Racing is the team leader in expert class and novice class with 83.5 & 72 points. — Special Correspondent
