Six arrested in connection with triple murder

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: In an early morning operation on Sunday, the North Division police arrested six persons in connection with the triple murder that occurred at the New Shanthi Sagar hotel on Sampige Road in Malleswaram.

Three persons with criminal background were hacked to death inside the hotel on Saturday night, sending shock waves across the city. The police arrested six persons and claimed that they have solved the murder.

However, Police Commissioner Shankar M. Bidari told presspersons that four more were involved in the incident and “efforts are on to arrest them”.

The arrested have been identified as Prashanth Hulluriaiah alias Prashi (27) from 5th Cross of Swimming Pool Layout near Vyalikaval, his brother Prabhakar alias Prabha, their associates M. Umashankar (26) of Basappa Garden “A” Cross near Vyalikaval, Chikkashyane Gowda alias Malashree Seena (29) of Kodandaramapur 12th “A” Cross, S. Suneel alias Honnavalli and Kiran H. Ramu from Vivekananda Block near Palace Guttahalli.

Malashree Seena is a contractor in Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

The accused were wanted in several heinous crimes, including murder. Cases have been registered against them in several police stations. The police have recovered three lethal weapons from the scene of murder, Mr. Bidari said.

Identified

Those killed were identified as G. Nataraj alias Lambu Nataraj (24) of Vivekananda Block 4th Cross near Palace Guttahalli, C. Somashekar alias Somi (23) of 4th “C” Cross Gayathri Nagar and K. Balasubrahmani alias Bala alias Slum Bala (23) from 3rd Cross of Muneshwara Block.

The arrested persons were at the reception on the invitation of Malashree Seena whose sister Susheela was getting married. Nataraj, Somashekar and Balasubrahmani allegedly came there to kill Malashree Seena.

However, the arrested, along with their absconding associates, retaliated and killed the three, the police said.

The three victims were history-sheeters and cases were registered against them in several police stations.

Nataraj was released from the prison mere 25 days ago.
