MUMBAI: Utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) and leading international rotary tillage manufacturer Maschio-Gaspardo of Italy on Monday signed an agreement for cooperation and exclusive supply of complete range of rotary tillage equipment to the Mahindra AppliTrac business. The cooperation would be initiated by launching rotavators manufactured by Maschio exclusively under the Mahindra brand name. The rotavators will be made available through Mahindra and Swaraj dealerships. Under the agreement, other rotary tillage equipment for planting, seeding, crop care and crop residue management would also be supplied to the Mahindra AppliTrac business by Maschio. The equipment would be sold under the Mahindra brand in the market. Part of M&M's Farm Equipment Sector, the Mahindra AppliTrac business focuses on the complete value chain of farm mechanisation solutions starting with land preparation to post-harvest solutions at affordable price to farmers. The focus of the AppliTrac business is to create solutions in various focus segments. Pawan Goenka, President (Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors) Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “we have envisaged the vision of delivering prosperity to farmers across rural areas by providing innovative crop specific farm technologies aimed at enhancing productivity, aptly termed as ‘FarmTech Prosperity'.''
