Bamboo fete

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Industries and Commerce Department, the Kerala Bamboo Mission and the Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion are organising a bamboo festival ‘Kerala Bamboo Fest 2010' at Ernakulam Town Hall from December 9 to 12.

Items made of bamboo, reed, cane and pandanus leaves and the machines used for making the products will figure at the festival. Nearly 70 artisans from eight States, including the host, will participate in the festival. The manufacturers of machines from various States will also participate.The festival will be inaugurated by Industries Minister Elamaram Karim.
