Goodwill meet:Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy calling on Law Minister Veerappa Moily in New Delhi on Tuesday. NEW DELHI: Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday pooh-poohed the former Kadapa Congress MP, Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy's decision to launch a new party within 45 days and see that the Congress was removed from the political scene of Andhra Pradesh. “Many people have left the Congress in the past. It will not affect the party in the State,” Mr. Reddy told journalists here after meeting party president Sonia Gandhi to discuss nominees for Speaker, Deputy Chief Minister and new president for the Pradesh Congress Committee. Cautious However, Congress media department chairman Janardhan Dwivedi reacted cautiously to Mr. Jagan's announcement, stating it was for the party in charge of Andhra Pradesh and Law Minister M. Veerappa Moily to react. “I am not aware of Mr. Jagan's statement.” One-line reply Mr. Reddy parried questions when the announcement on the nominees for Speakers and Deputy Chief Minister would be made. He gave a one-line reply: “Appropriate decision will be taken at the appropriate time.” Mr. Reddy discussed with Food Minister Sharad Pawar shortage of godown space in the State, provision of appropriate remunerative price to farmers, lifting of the ban on export of non-basmati rice and the Central team's assessment of flood damage in the State, including change in colour of paddy. The Chief Minister also met Ms. Gandhi's political secretary Ahmed Patel, and Mr. Moily. The Member-Secretary of the Justice B.N. Srikrishna Committee on the Telangana issue, V.K Duggal, met Mr. Reddy at the Andhra Bhavan. Mr. Duggal said the committee's report was in the final stages of preparation and would be presented to the Home Ministry by the December 31 deadline.
