Rajasekhara Murthy laid to rest

Chamarajanagar: Rajya Sabha member and former Union Minister of State for Transportation M. Rajasekhara Murthy, who died in New Delhi on Monday, was laid to rest with full State honours on the Murugarajendraswamy school premises, Mariyala village, near here on Tuesday.

A large number of people from various districts across the State took part in the funeral ceremony. An influential Lingayat leader, Rajasekhara Murthy was laid to rest as per Lingayat tradition under the supervision of Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur.

Immadi Mahanthaswamiji of Murugarajendraswamy Math expressed grief over the demise of Rajasekhara Murthy terming it a great loss to the math. Members of the Akhila Bharath Sharana Sahitya, Veerashaiva Mahasabha and various organisations have condoled the death of Mr. Murthy.
