We'll win panchayat polls: Yeddyurappa

Special Correspondent

MYSORE: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Wednesday claimed that the BJP would win in the battle of the ballots in the ensuing elections to the local bodies as the allegations made by the Opposition would be no match against the series of development works launched by him.

Opening the poll campaign for the zilla and taluk panchayat elections at K.R. Nagar in Mysore district, the Chief Minister said, “Let them prepare a detailed charge sheet and circulate it among the voters and I will distribute the list of development works launched by the BJP and we will see who wins.”

Addressing a public meeting in the town, the Chief Minister said he was prepared to convene a special session of the Assembly to discuss the allegations of land grab being levelled against him and counter it with development works taken up by him. Targeting Congress leader Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minister said Mr. Siddaramaiah would be forced to sit in the Opposition for the next 20 years.

State BJP president K.S. Eshwarappa spoke.
