Woman, husband critical

Chennai: A woman who allegedly attempted suicide by resorting to self-immolation at Thousand Lights on Monday night suffered serious burns.

According to police sources, Saranya (23) of Gulam Abbas Khader Street took the extreme step following an argument with her husband Selvam (28). The man rushed to her rescue and suffered burns. They were admitted to Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital where their condition was said to be critical.
